From Struggle to Strength: My Journey of Transformation

Quyen L.J.

In 2005, I began my journey in Marketing & Advertising, studying in the dynamic city of Singapore. By 2008, I graduated, only to face an unexpected challenge—Singapore had hit a recession, and opportunities in the job market were scarce. This obstacle pushed me to relocate to London in 2009, where I found new horizons. A year later, I gained direct entry into Business School, majoring in Business with a focus on Leadership Consulting, and in 2011, I graduated with honors.

Despite my academic success, the UK was facing its own struggles, with rising unemployment rates and restrictions on international work permits. In 2012, I found myself traveling between Vietnam and the UK, searching for new possibilities. By 2013-2014, I took a bold step, opening my first fashion boutique and splitting my time between New York and Los Angeles.

However, life took a drastic turn in 2015. I lost my biggest investment, my business, and my relationship. The future seemed uncertain as I became a single mother. The following years, 2016 and 2017, were a time of focusing solely on my family after remarrying and welcoming a second child into the world.

Then, in 2018, my world was shaken once again when my husband collapsed just days before Christmas. By 2019, our family was relying on savings, supporting two children in an international school, and the pressure was immense. In this challenging time, I ventured into a completely new field—network marketing. It was a path I had never considered, but out of necessity, I took the leap. This business venture turned out to be a defining chapter of my life.

Network marketing revealed my inner strength, my weaknesses, and ultimately, my true self. It ignited a passion and mission within me—to not only lead myself but to lead others. By 2020 and 2021, despite the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, my business flourished, and we exceeded every goal we set.

In 2021, as the pandemic worsened in Vietnam, we made the decision to relocate to Germany for the sake of our children. But just when I thought I had found stability, 2022 presented new challenges. A divorce and serious health concerns forced me to leave my business in Vietnam, and suddenly, I found myself with only €3,000 in my bank account, two children to support, and no job or knowledge of the local language. I was at rock bottom, unable to even afford a professional coaching program to help me through this dark time.

But in the midst of that crisis, I discovered something powerful—self-coaching. With the help of a few online courses, I found clarity and regained control over my life. This newfound skill became my lifeline, and in 2023, I began sharing what I had learned by teaching a self-coaching program to my friends in Vietnam. It wasn't long before it evolved into a full-fledged business.

That same year, I borrowed money from my mother and enrolled in the Maxwell Leadership certification program. The tools and insights I gained from that program were invaluable, transforming me into a coach and leader. In 2024, I traveled to the U.S. for official training, and I became a certified inner coach and speaker with the Maxwell Leadership Team.

Thanks to the life lessons I've learned and the self-coaching techniques that saved me, I'm fully back on track today. My previous experiences, from entrepreneurship to personal setbacks, have allowed me to create coaching programs that are not only insightful and authentic but also deeply transformative for my clients.

As I look ahead to 2025 and beyond, I am committed to expanding my reach in the international market. Living in Germany, I see many people like me—immigrants facing language barriers and uncertainties. My mission is to help others grow through the power of coaching, just as it helped me.

Change is inevitable, but it is also a gift. My journey has led me to where I am today, and I am ready to guide others on their own path of transformation.
